When I first started building web sites, trying to find and analyze keywords was very tedious and I dreaded the whole process.
To me, it was like looking for a needle in a haystack. It wasn't long before I started searching for an easier way to find web site keywords.
I convinced myself (or maybe an affiliate did) that I needed to use Wordtracker, a well known research keyword tool, and wasted a couple of months worth of subscription money trying to figure it out.
I probably didn't give it enough time or energy because I kept lamenting the fact that I was paying a lot of money to use it each month. It seemed like nothing more than a glorified database to me.
I ended up cancelling the Wordtracker subscription and decided to go back to using Google Adwords free keyword tool. I already knew my way around Excel so I figured I could come up with a way to use the free selector tool and then sort through the data in Excel.
I started out just dumping data into Excel and then manually sorting through hundreds of keywords with the help of filters, but that quickly became a burden so I improved the process by learning how to use Excel macros.
Now I am able to quickly find keywords in about an hour from start to finish. The process is extremely easy to use so if you have Excel and are looking for a better way to sort through hundreds of keywords and get down to those golden nuggets more quickly, watch these two videos.
